Our Beautiful Nichole turns 12

I can't believe that you are 12!!! We love you so much and we are so proud of you. You love the Lord and you let it shine through you everyday!! Keep on being the beautiful girl that you are on the inside as well as the outside! Love you baby girl, Happy Birthday!

We took Nichole and 2 of her friends out to dinner at Friday's (YUM!) and then to the movies to see Bedtime Stories. The girls had a blast and they loved the movie! It was a great afternoon.

My Weekend Project

I bought this desk and hutch at a yard sale for $10.00. This is my first furniture project and I think it came out really nice! Nichole is enjoying it! She needed a place to go and do her work when Jamie-Lynn was under her feet. Here is a before and after:

We got our Sonlight box!!!!!!

Well we got our Sonlight Core 5 and we are so excited!! The books are amazing! We were not supposed to start Core 5 until the fall, but Nichole and I just couldn't wait! I have spent the last few nights staying up very, very late reading the IG and trying to figure things out. I have got enough figured out and scheduled to get started. We have already started with the readers and Nichole is loving them. She especially loves Torches of Joy, which is a book about missionaries in New Guinea. Tells the story of an American couple who go to New Guinea in 1960's to get the word to the Dani tribespeople who are still living like they did in the stone ages. She has also picked her "Choose your Adventure" for the Pacific Islands and she has chosen to have a Luau. Nichole and her dad are planning on cooking a whole pig. Yikes! I am already not a big meat eater, I am not so sure that I will be able to look at that poor pig and eat it. Here are some pictures from the day the box came. I never thought that Nichole would just jump right in like she did. She grabbed a book right away and started reading.
