We are on our way!

Well Nichole has finished her first official school week. We are just taking it easy this summer. She is soing Spelling (Spelling Power), Vocab (Wordly Wise), and Geography (US Activity Book). She has done real well. I am very proud of her so far. I figure if I can get her started lightly, then she will ease right into the school year in the fall. So far she is motivated and excited. I hope that it stays that way. With Jamie-Lynn we are just reading lots of books. Erik is currently reading The Back Porch Swing and he will start on The Lord of the Rings series next.

It is Erik's 15th birthday today. Happy Birthday baby boy. We love you so much!!!!!

Getting Excited!!

Well, our homeschooling journey is officially on the road!! We are anxious and excited. I recieved our Homeschooling confirmation letter from the school board today! YEAH!!!! Nichole is going to be taking 4 of her classes through Florida Virtual School: Math, Science, Language Arts & World Cultures. I will be teaching Spelling, Vocab, Art and some Geography. Today, we purchased Wordly Wise 4 for Vocab and Spelling Power Book F for 6th grade spelling. She will begin taking her Science course in July just to get used to FLVS's curriculum. I will also begin vocab, spelling and geography in July to get a head start. For Jamie-Lynn, I have purchased Before Five in a Row, and I am also purchasing Heart of Dakota's - Little hands to Heaven. I will just be reading the BFIAR books to Jamie for this year, but we will be following the LHTH curriculum starting in the fall. Well I am going to start reading my teachers manuals for spelling and vocab so I can start my planning. More soon..........
